Dr. Obinna Nwobi graduated with highest honors from East Tennessee State University with a dual degree in English and Chemistry. He then received his medical degree on a scholarship from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in Memphis. He completed his internship and residency in general surgery at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Newark, before completing a fellowship in vascular surgery at the Albany Medical Center/The Vascular Group PLLC in Albany, NY, one of the largest single-specialty, peripheral vascular centers in the country.  Dr. Nwobi is certified in general surgery and eligible for vascular surgery by the American Board of Surgery.  Dr. Nwobi also completed a Masters in Public Health from the prestigious Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health with an emphasis on health care management and international health.  Dr. Nwobi is the most experienced minimally invasive/endovascular surgeon in Polk County.  Numerous patients have already benefitted from Dr. Nwobi’s expertise with shorter hospital stays and faster healing times.  He is married to Ify Nwobi and they have two lovely kids.


Tammy Belzer graduated high school in Allentown, PA. She has lived in the Polk County, Lakeland area for 20 years. Tammy graduated with Honors as a Medical Assistant in 2004, and continued her education by becoming Certified in 2010. Mrs. Belzer has been married for 10 years and has two children.


Maria Alvear graduated high school in Plant City, FL. She is a Bilingual Medical Assistant and graduated with Honors from Keiser University. Ms. Alvear is a life long resident of the Hillsborough County, Plant City area.


Sony RashidSony Rashid, BA, RVT, holds Computer Science and Arts degree and over 10 years of employment as a vascular ultrasound specialist.

He began his career with Karmody Vascular Lab in Albany, NY, one of the advanced vascular labs in the country. Sony is one of few technologists who were trained in Buffalo Neuroimaging Analysis Center (BNAC) to assess CCSVI (Chronic cerebro-spinal venous insufficiency) in MS (Multiple sclerosis) patients. Before joining Rapha Vascular Specialists he worked for Maine Heart Surgical Associates in Portland, Maine as a lab Technical Director. He is a member of SVU (Society for Vascular Ultrasound) and SDMS (Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography). He is married to Jesmin and has a wonderful daughter named Sareen.
